Megan McKenna takes aim at ex boyfriends with new single ahead of Glastonbury debut

SHE is making history at Glastonbury on Sunday when she becomes the first X Factor winner to ever play Worthy Farm.

And while her silky smooth vocals will draw in a big crowd, her ex-boyfriends may want to give her set a miss.

In an exclusive interview Megan McKenna, who releases her new single Baby Talk on Friday revealed she is ready to fire shots.

She said: “Baby Talk is about not taking any rubbish from a man.

“I am not holding back with my lyrics this time around

“Some of the songs are tongue in cheek, some are upsetting ones and some are some really powerful.

“I feel glad I had a couple of relationships because now I can write about them in my songs

“A broken heart writes the best songs and I truly believe that. Look at Dolly Parton's songs – they’re all about getting your heart broken.

“I used to worry about writing about stuff but I am more open now.

“I have grown up a lot, I am happier in myself and more confident in myself.

“I don’t take no s*** now.”

Megan’s new music project, One Song A Week, will see her release a new track every seven days.

And those lucky enough to get tickets to her Glastonbury set will hear what she has to offer.

Megan, who found fame on TV in TOWIE and won Celebrity X Factor in 2019, added: “I’ll be playing a lot of my new stuff during my set.

“When I heard I had been asked to play I thought, they are finally accepting me in the music industry. No matter what TV show I have been on.

“I got a lot of harsh comments when I was first doing this. People would say, ‘As if she is going to make it,’ and ‘Why does she think she can do it?’

“Music was always my goal.”

Megan says she will celebrate with tequila when she comes off stage but the biggest treat will be watching her music hero Kasey Musgraves – who made her debut at Glastonbury in 2014 on the same stage Megan is playing this weekend.

This time around the Grammy award winning star will headline the Other stage.

“I met her before and she was so nice. I can’t wait to see her.”
