Creative Director- Design
WABC-TV, New York's #1 station, seeks an energetic and talented designer with exceptional visual effects abilities and concept development experience to lead the design department for Eyewitness News and Live with Kelly and Ryan.

Responsibilities:
  • Reporting directly to the VP Marketing, will lead design team to strategize creative plans and creative visions for WABC and Live With Kelly and Ryan
  • Drive creative asset development based on brand strategy to deliver timely, storytelling visual assets, in graphic designs, 3D designs, inspirational concepts for local and OTV product development.
  • Working with the Art Director, guide the work of all direct reports, giving them feedback and leading the generation of stellar ideas.
  • Define creative trends in partnership with Creative Director- Brand, and content leads throughout the segment.
  • Study the creative marketplace, assessing where the department's work stands against competitors, and the industry.
  • Work with HR/LR to effectively run the department in a mixed union and non-union work environment.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in motion graphics design for television and a degree in design or equivalent experience, news background a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing design teams in broadcast / cable industry
  • Qualified candidates must have in-depth knowledge of C4D, Adobe AE, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Ability to interpret producer ideas and communicate effectively.
  • Able to work with green screen for tracking, keying within animation.
  • A team player, professional attitude, takes initiative on work load and working to improve on-air product.
  • Utilizing internal systems and understanding templates as well as hardware/software such as; Adobe Premier, Google Earth Pro 3d Maps, Ross Expression (automated systems), web design and scripting. Be open to learning these and/or anything new required.

Overview
The Disney owned station WABC in New York City is looking for an experienced general assignment reporter with the ability to authentically engage and connect with our audience. The ideal candidate must be a dynamic and compelling journalist, communicator, and storyteller with a passion for uncovering and reporting the facts, and with integrity above all else. This team member will work collaboratively with producers, assignment editors and newsroom leaders. The applicant must demonstrate a full understanding of the powerful voice and responsibility broadcasters have to, and with, the communities we serve.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Exceptional reporting, writing and interviewing skills
  • Must know how to source and generate impactful enterprise leads, and create impactful content utilizing the latest investigative tools, including data journalism.
  • You must be tenacious in your ability to uncover stories through investigation and research

  • Be an expert in telling high impact stories and in breaking news coverage, and demonstrate that ability in the field

Newscast Producer
WABC-TV Eyewitness News in New York City is seeking an aggressive, motivated and dedicated Newscast Producer who will oversee all elements of a daily television newscast. Our newscast producer must build complicated, compelling, interesting newscasts in a highly competitive, high-pressure environment. A successful candidate should be active on social media and understand how to leverage those platforms for stories. Producers must work well with anchors, reporters, assignment editors, writers, directors and graphic artists. Candidates for this position should have a passion for producing, and should aspire to management positions later in their career.

President & General Manager - WABC-TV
The President and General Manager of WABC-TV is responsible for leading and advancing the most watched local television station in the New York market and in the country, managing the strategies and teams that drive audience and growth across platforms.

Executive Producer

This EP is responsible for the overall daypart content of our newscasts, digital properties and social platforms. A successful candidate must have strong leadership skills, news judgment and excellent digital and social media abilities.
